World-o-Meter and Population:One

Denis, our man in Montreal, sent in a link to World-o-meter, which gives global statistics in real time. At the top is the population clock that's going up like prices in China; underneath there are statistics on government, economy, education, media, environment, food, water, energy, and health.

There are lots of interesting stats to read up on and put together: there are under a billion (887,283,701) undernourished people in the world, over a billion (1,119,615,213) overweight people and over 17 000 (17 520) have already died of hunger today. Yes, you read that right.

The price of a bottle of beer in Zimbabwe is 4.7 million Zimbabwean dollars (ZWD4,760,080) so China's not the only place experiencing a spot of inflation.

When I went looking for a graphic for World-o-meter, I came across Population:One. This page depicts each person is the world as a pixel, with you are the first one. Care for a little perspective?
