Of course Vespas predate Gwan Han Ching...



Thanks to Jeffrey for sending in this enchanting graffiti. According to my dear wife, the original picture is of Gwan Han Ching. He was the first great master of Chinese opera back in the Yuan Dynasty. If you would like to peruse one of his works, here is a scene from Sye Tyen-syang ("Heavenly Fragrance" in English) His dates are unbelievably from 1230 - 1320, which was a long time for someone to live in the thirteenth century. And of course the first Vespa didn't come out until 1946.
