Chernobyl tours now available

A quick look through the headlines this morning showed me that the world had not stopped quickly going insane as I slept and dreamt of fifty pound marshmallows turning into pillows.

For those of you who are bored silly by a trip to the beach or the mountains, who feel that Disneyland is too contrived or that Thailand's sex tourism, or Hong Kong's shopping forays have just been done to death, have no fear. There is a new tourist trap on the horizon.

In Strange and unsettling: my day trip to Chernobyl, Sarah Johnstone reveals that you can now take a tour through the worst nuclear accident of all time.
New Logic (00 380 44 206 3322; newlogic.com.ua) offers tours for up to two people for £210, including transport, English-speaking guide and lunch.

Among the sights to see are the massive concrete sarcophagus they built around the reactor and stunted herds of radioactive deer, and boar. Take someone you love.
