Israeli Terror Wall Tagged

These images were originally posted at the Guardian Online

Banksy, a UK guerilla artist, spray-painted nine images along the Palestinian side of the new Israeli Terror Wall that is snaking across Palestine. Though the pictures themselves were not overtly political, he released a statement which read,

The Israeli government is building a wall surrounding the occupied Palestinian territories. It stands three times the height of the Berlin Wall and will eventually run for over 700km - the distance from London to Zurich. The wall is illegal under international law and essentially turns Palestine into the world's largest open prison.

Well done, Banksy, but I still think the whole damned thing's about ready for a massive game of dominoes...

The title should read: anti terror wall tagged. The number of suicide bombers went down effectively after its erection.
Consider if there were no sea between Taiwan and China, there also would be a wall or a DMZ like in Korea.

Hey Anonymous,

The title is correct. The wall cuts off families from their orchards and their relations, it steals lands and water from people who already have very little. It is an abomination and it will not stop the suicide bombers. The awesome security systems of the USA and the UK did little to stop the events of 9/11 or 7/7; nor have they done anything to apprehend the people behind those crimes. If Israel wants to stop violence in Palestine they should stop shooting innocent women and children, and stop bulldozing their crops and houses.

If there were no sea between Taiwan and China then Taiwan wouldn't be such a hotly contested piece of real estate so there probably wouldn't be a wall or DMZ like in Korea. There wouldn't need to be, but your mention of that Korean wall reminds me that Palestine isn't the only place that the West has thrown up barbaric monoliths of cement that separate families and underscore fictional boundaries that Washington or London find useful.

You say: "it will not stop the suicide bombers"

Still, a 90%+ reduction is quite an achievement and preferable to no improvement at all.
